* Leslie Charles retains the National Scrabble Championship Title !!!!
The National Scrabble ChampionShip 2010 was held over in Independence weekend August 28th-29th and on Aug.31st.,in what would proved to be a masterful performance, Leslie defeated a field of twelve finalists to retain the title he had won in 2009.The tournament which started with its elimination rounds on August 1st climaxed on the weekend of August 28th with a class field of twelve players including six former national champions. Leslie began the finals losing only one of eight games on that day;on day two he had loss two out of sixteen games and by midday on the third, he had a six game point lead on his nearest rival.In the three final rounds of "king of the hill", hetumbled a bit but because of his unbeatable position at that stage he had already won the tournament. Congratulation Leslie !!!

* Dillon Jeboursingh wins National (under 18) Scrabble Championship!!
The National (under 18) Scrabble Championship 2010 held on August 14th . was won by Dillon Jeboursingh who played undefeated ending the tournament with 6 wins and a point difference of 718. In 2nd place was Geniece Jones 5wins 345 pd ,third was Omari Blake 3wins 447 pd. CONGRATULATIONS DILLON!!
* Club News
- The Arima United Scrabble held its "Annual Arima Borough Day" tournament on August 8th,2010. This tournament was won for 2nd year running by Anthony Modeste .In 2nd place was Kurt Ross and third was Leslie Charles.
- SPARTANS SCRABBLE CLUB presents its 2nd annual scrabble tournament on SEPTEMBER 19th 2010. All scrabble players are welcome to participate . There will be four categories Advanced ,Intermediate , Under 18,and Primary School students.Great prizes will be awarded in all categories.C and B there.
SPARTANS S.C. 1st. Annual Fund Raising CURRY-QUE will be held on Thursday 16th- 18th September 2010.
